TheCoKitchen is a licensed, shared-use commercial kitchen that is cost effective for food & beverage entrepreneurs. The San Marcos facility is available to members on an hourly basis. This allows you to fulfill your culinary business needs without the high overhead. With lowered-risk and minimal start-up costs, you can focus on growing your business.
Kitchen members have the opportunity to vend their products from designated retail windows.
RedBus Food Park is co-located with TheCoKitchen. The large naturally-shaded eating area as well as our climate controlled red bus is provided for retail window clients as well as our food truck patrons.
Kitchen members will have 24-hr access to the facility. Video surveillance and digital keypad access ensure safety and security.
The facility has high speed WIFI for members and patrons. Kitchen scheduling is done through our online reservation system.
TheCoKitchen is the only shared-use commercial kitchen in San Marcos. Since it is located directly between student housing and campus, this location provides heavy customer foot traffic for retail.
You will need a certificate of insurance showing a minimum $1,000,000 commercial general liability insurance with TheCoKitchen listed as an additional insured. This policy must be maintained for the duration of any and all kitchen use.
There is a 10-hour minimum for all clients upon signing agreement. This is $250/month for equipment users & $200/month for non-equipment users.
If you need to bring in additional equipment requiring extra electricity, you may be charged an additional usage fee.
$30/per cold shelf. $15/per dry shelf monthly.

Businesses/Owners/Managers must have at least one employee who has a Food Manager's Certification. This is required by the City of San Marcos.
If you have a Food Manager's Certification you DO NOT need a Food Handler's Certification. Each employee of your food business must have a Food Handler's Certificate per the City of San Marcos.
This permit is issued by the San Marcos Health Department and is mandatory for operating a food-related business. We must receive a copy of this permit! You MUST have an agreement with us BEFORE you apply for this permit with the City of San Marcos. The application is on the City of San Marcos Environmental Health website. (www.sanmarcostx.gov).
