What you will need to get started

Need to Know Information:

Insurance

You will need a certificate of insurance showing a minimum $1,000,000 commercial general liability insurance with TheCoKitchen listed as an additional insured.  This policy must be maintained for the duration of any and all kitchen use.


Permits & Certifications You Will Need

Food Manager's Certification

Businesses/Owners/Managers must have at least one employee who has a Food Manager's Certification.  This is required by the City of San Marcos. 

Food Handler's Certification

If you have a Food Manager's Certification you DO NOT need a Food Handler's Certification.  Each employee of your food business must have a Food Handler's Certificate per the City of San Marcos. 

Application for a Food Enterprise Permit

This permit is issued by the San Marcos Health Department and is mandatory for operating a food-related business.  We must receive a copy of this permit! You MUST have an agreement with us BEFORE you apply for this permit with the City of San Marcos.  The application is on the City of San Marcos Environmental Health website. (www.sanmarcostx.gov).
